 The Federal University of Technology Akure, Ondo State, Nigeria. It is one of the four (4) Federal Universities of Technology established about 20 years ago. The University generally adopts the administrative system laid out by the National University Commission. It practices the school system as compared with Faculty system in some Nigerian Universities. The administrative system is headed by the Vice Chancellor, who is directly responsible to the Federal Government of Nigeria through the University Governing Council.

The University is located on a 630 hectares of land in Akure, Ondo State which is one of the 36 states in Nigeria. The University has a population of about 12,000 students and offers a wide range of undergraduate degrees and postgraduate programmes in different faculties. The Federal University of Technology Akure is one of Nigeria's premier universities of Technology and lies between latitude 5o45’ and 8o15’ North and longitudes 4o30’
and 6o east.
