POST-JAMB UME SCREENING ON UNDERGRADUATE ADMISSIONS FOR THE 2006/2007 ACADEMIC SESSION

     The Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) invites all candidates who made FUTA either their first or second choice and obtained a minimum score of 200 in the Universities Matriculation Examination (UME) conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) in May 2006 to a Post-JAMB UME Screening on the Campus of the University on Thursday, 31st August, 2006 at 10.00 a.m.

GENERAL INFORMATION

  1. Candidates are requested to bring along, the following for the Screening.
      2.   The venues of the Screening depend on the candidate’s choice of School. Candidates who chose FUTA as their First Choice and Second Choice but different Schools in the University shall sit for their Screening in the School of their First Choice. The venues of the Screening will be conspicuously displayed at strategic locations on Campus.  Candidates shall be required to report directly at the venues.

Candidates, on arrival on Campus, should report at the venues of their Screening.

      3. Candidates shall pay administrative charge of N1,000.00 only for the Post-JAMB UME Screening. The payment shall be made online to any branch of the following Banks before the date of the Screening:

Each candidate shall keep his/her Pay-in-Slip for the payment.  A copy of the Pay-in-Slip must be attached by each candidate to his/her answer sheet as evidence of payment before submission to the Invigilator after the Screening. The Pay-in-Slip shall clearly indicate the full names of the candidate (Surname first)), his/her JAMB Registration Number and the Course applied for.

      4. Identification Cards shall be distributed to candidates. Each candidate shall be required to complete and affix a copy of his/her passport size photograph to the Identification Card and submit to the Invigilator before the commencement of the Screening.

      5. The Post-JAMB Screening shall be one and quarter (1¼) hours multiple choice of objective question in three (3) parts as follows:

(i)        

(ii)        All candidates shall answer questions in Parts A and B and two (2) relevant subject options in Part C depending on their degree options.

(iii)       Each of Parts A and B shall be 15 multiple questions while Part C shall contain 30 multiple questions. In all, candidates shall answer 60 objective questions.

      6.        The University views cases of examination misconduct seriously. Candidates are therefore advised in their own interest:

             i. to comport themselves properly during the Screening;
            ii. Connivance with someone else to appear for the screening and other various acts of cheating are forbidden;
            iii. note that candidates are not allowed to use cell phones or similar electronic gadgets; and
            iv. note that any candidate who comes into the examination hall later than thirty (30) minutes after the commencement of the Screening shall not be allowed into the hall.

      7.        Candidates who are awaiting their WASC/NECO/NABTEB/GCE O’ Level results as at the date of the Screening are NOW qualified to participate in the exercise.

      8.        Candidates who are awaiting their WASC/NECO/NABTEB/GCE O’ Level results should, however, note that the University will only consider them for admission on the condition that their O'level results are presented BEFORE the date of consideration of the Post-JAMB screening exercise.

      9.        Candidates who already have their O'level results should bring along 5 copies of such results to be attached to their answer sheets.

    10.        The University will not accept liability for non-consideration of candidates without appropriate results as at the date of consideration.

     11.        Any candidate who fails to present himself/herself for the Screening as scheduled for Thursday 31st August, 2006 will not be considered for admission.

      12.        Only candidates who obtained the minimum score determined by the University in JAMB UME Screening shall qualify for consideration for final selection.
