The Unit is one the arms of the Vice-Chancellor’s Office and
it coordinates the public relations functions of the University.
It is headed by the Information, Protocol and passages Officer, who is also the University’s Public Relations Officer.
The Unit facilitates the flow of information between the University and its various publics which include:
the media,
community,
government and other national agencies.
The Unit also takes charge of protocol and passages matters.
The Unit is located on the ground floor of the Senate building.
The following publications serve as instruments for achieving the above goals:
FUTA Bulletin - a quarterly publication
FUTA News - a weekly publication
Press Releases - issued regularly
Newspaper and radio advertisements.
Daily media reports (newspaper cuttings) for the Vice-Chancellor.
Press Conference/briefing and other related media functions.
