The School of Engineering and Engineering Technology
was established in 1988 with six Departments: Agricultural
Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical and
Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical
and Materials Engineering, Mining Engineering.
The main philosophy behind the establishment of the
School is to train and produce engineering graduates
that will be self-reliant and foster the industrialization
of their immediate environment and the nation in general.
The Objectives for establishing the School are; to:
(i) expose the students into the theoretical basis of
engineering and its allied fields.
(ii) develop in the students a broad-based training in
general engineering technology.
(iii)develop in the students
the capacity for research and
problem-solving abilities that
will abundantly equip them
to combat challenges arising
from technological development
of the nation. |
