In the Department of Mechanical Engineering, students
are trained for the award of B. Eng. Degree in
Mechanical Engineering. The teaching and research are
based on sound academic foundation as well as practical
orientation. A measure of specialization is encouraged
in the final year through courses in the following
areas:
1. Manufacturing and Production Engineering
2. Industrial Engineering
3. Refrigeration and Air-conditioning Engineering
4. Industrial Ecosystems Design
5 Automotive Engineering
The objectives of the programme are to:
(i) expose students into the science of Engineering and
Engineering Technology
(ii) develop in the students a adequate knowledge of
Mechanical Engineering
(iii) impart in the students the ability to investigate,
analyze and provide solutions to problems arising from
engineering processes.
