Department of Applied Geophysics

Admission Requirements
Year 1 (UME):
Admission is through the Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (JAMB). To be eligible, the candidates are expected to pass Mathematics, English Language, Physics, Chemistry and one of Biology, Agricultural Science, Economics or Geography at credit level in the GCE, SSCE or NECO and are also expected to sit for Use of English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry in the Universities Matriculation Examination (UME) conducted by JAMB.

Year II (Direct Entry):
Candidates may be admitted directly into 200 Level if they have:

  • Satisfied the general entry requirements for the University as for 100 level above.
  • Good pass at the advanced level of the General Certificate of Education or its equivalent in Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics.
  • Ordinary National Diploma in Geology, Geophysics, Civil, Electrical/Electronics Engineering and any other course adjudged relevant by the Department. In addition to the University required courses, candidates in this category may have to do or audit other 100 level courses in remedy of deficiencies.
