FUTA MATRICULATES 1,709 POSTGRADUATE STUDENTS



The Federal University of Technology, Akure has matriculated the 1,709 Students admitted into its various Postgraduate Programmes for the 2018/2019 Academic Session.  Speaking at the induction and matriculation Ceremony, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Joseph Fuwape represented by Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Professor Rufus Ogunsemi said FUTA is a research intensive University with a defined research structure and well equipped Central Laboratory devoted to cutting edge research development in Science and Technology. Professor Fuwape said “with immense Human Resource, opportunities for developing excellent academic relationships with dynamic academics abound.  In order to maximize these opportunities, you will need to set your mind to hard work, diligence and remain focused”.
He said the University has flourishing academic relationships and linkages with reputable foreign Universities and Government Agencies which has brought her into global reckoning.  The Vice Chancellor said “FUTA remains focused in her pursuit of excellence in teaching, research and service delivery as enshrined in our vision and to promote technological advancement by providing a conducive environment for scholarly activities which engenders development of products that are technologically oriented, self-reliant and relevant to the society as encapsulated in our mission”
Professor Fuwape implored the new students to be of good conduct and remain focused while eschewing violence and unwholesome association and assured them that Management will do everything possible to ensure that programmes are completed successfully in record time. Thereafter, the Dean of the School of Postgraduate Studies (SPGS) Professor Chinwuba Arum presented the Students to the Vice-Chancellor while the Registrar, Mr. Richard Arifalo administered the Matriculation oath.
