FUTA’S CONSERVATION CLUB CAMPAIGNS FOR A HEALTHY ENVIRONMENT

The Environmental Conservation Club, FUTA in partnership with EdenWorld Initiative and One Tree Initiative organized an event to mark the Global Climate strike event in FUTA. The purpose of the event was to sensitize the people in and around FUTA community   and create awareness of the threat of global warming and possible mitigation strategies. At the event, the duo of the Dean of School of Agriculture and Agricultural Technology, SAAT Professor Taiwo Amos represented by the Sub-dean, Dr. R. Adebayo and the staff Adviser of the Environmental Conservation Club stressed the need for students to champion the cause against harmful activities that degrade the environment and subsequently create an environment that will be safe and devoid of toxic substances.

The students moved around the campus creating awareness and urging members of the University community to shun harmful practices such as bush burning, indiscriminate disposal of plastics and deforestation. They called on government to take more proactive steps in protecting the environment
