FUTA Lecturer Returns after Excellent Sojourn in Japan
Emmanuel Jesuyon Dansu, the alumnus of the Federal University of Technology Akure, FUTA who bagged a PhD in Information Sciences, Mathematical Biology/Sociology from Tohoku University, Sendai, Japan in grand style has returned to FUTA for the continuation of his academic career as a lecturer in the Department of Mathematics. On Tuesday December 8 2020 the Vice Chancellor ,Professor Joseph Fuwape, formally welcomed him back to the institution after his successful sojourn in Japan which culminated in his being given the privilege to speak on behalf of other graduating students as the 2020 valedictorian of the University due to his excellent performance. The Vice Chancellor while congratulating Dansu for his excellent performance in Japan, advised him to continue on the path of excellence in his dealing with his students and research works. He said the University will continue to support members of its faculty to become the best they can be through training at home and abroad and provision of conducive atmosphere for their academic development.
Dansu promised to continue to fly the flag of FUTA proudly and contribute to its sustained drive to remain a citadel of academic excellence and training of world class products.
Dansu showed the same brilliance he displayed in Japan in his undergraduate days at FUTA graduating with BTech, Industrial Mathematics, and First Class hons. 2005-2010. He was also the best graduating student, Department of Mathematical Sciences, FUTA and won numerous undergraduate prizes at FUTA. During his Master’s programme, also in FUTA, where he majored in MTech, Mathematical Optimization, he made a Distinction in 2014.
And in 2017, while serving as a lecturer in FUTA, He got a full Government of Japan Monbukagakusho (MEXT) Postgraduate Scholarship for the PhD at the Department of Computer and Mathematical Sciences, Graduate School of Information Sciences, Tohoku University, Sendai, Japan. Dansu's areas of research interest include the mathematical modelling of population dynamics in biological and social systems using differential equations. His research activities seek to solve problems relating to healthcare, the environment and group behaviour.
