FUTA NEW VC TOURS  CAMPUS, MEETS DEANS , DIRECTORS

A mini familiarisation tour of the campus  was organized for the new Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Professor Adenike Oladiji on Wednesday 25th May, 2022.
Oladiji was accompanied on the tour by Principal Officers of the institution and other top members of staff.
Speaking about her impression of the FUTA campus, she said "I now see a bigger FUTA than I thought. The development is quite impressive. You actually have a beautiful environment adorned with lovely structures. I believe there can be room for improvement and I promise on sustaining and building on what is on ground."
The Vice Chancellor had in her entourage the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academic, Professor Deji Ogunsemi;  Deputy Vice Chancellor, Development, Professor Philip Oguntunde; the Registrar, Mr. Richard iqliaArifalo; the University Librarian, Dr. Belau Gbadamosi; Chairman, Committee of Deans and Dean, School of Computing, Professor Sunday Adewale; Dean, Students Affairs, Professor Gbenga Onibi; and Director, Corporate Communications and Protocol, Mr. Adegbenro Adebanjo.
In a similar development the Vice Chancellor also met with principal officers, Deans and Directors of the university as part of efforts to familiarize with members of the university management and hit the ground running with her vision for the development of FUTA.
 She solicited the support of all members of the university community and called on all to work towards promoting the 'FUTA Agenda' which she said should be the  most important goal.
Professor Oladiji said, " A transplanted tree will only survive if conditions  are favourable. I will only succeed if you allow me to. Let's shun the divisive tendencies and work a a team.
She said the workings of the university system in Nigeria cuts  across all the universities differing in only the individuals operating in the system. It was therefore imperative for all parties to avoid polarizing the system, eschew all forms of avarice and work towards progress and achievement of greater feats.
The Vice Chancellor called for synergy among all members of staff saying that each member of staff must make it a point of duty to know what is going on in the university at every given time in terms of infrastructure and human capital development.
Responding members of the management staff at the meeting welcomed the Vice Chancellor to the university  and pledged their unalloyed support towards the development of the university.
