FUTA IS BLESSED WITH EXCELLENT HUMAN RESOURCES-VC


The Vice Chancellor, Professor Adenike Oladiji has said that the Federal University of Technology Akure is blessed with an abundance of intellectual human resources who are adding value and contributing their quota in making the institution the unique citadel of learning that it is. She sated this while receiving members of the Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD) FUTA Branch on Tuesday , June 1,2022.The vice chancellor said her observation was that a lot of staff are committed to their jobs and have thus far exhibited a high level of diligence and with that FUTA will continue to hold its own among the comity of Global Universities.
She commended OWSD FUTS for keeping the flag flying adding that the branch has continued to prove its mettle locally and internationally having one of the strongest chapters in Nigeria. She said “women should continue to support each other towards achieving individual and organizational goals. Let us continue to showcase the stuff that we are made of by proving that that we are capable of any responsibilities handed over to us. Women are problem solvers and multitasking and with their unrelenting support a person or individual will go far. Thus I know that with your support we will achieve great things together”.
In her address, the Chairperson, OWSD-FUTA Branch, Professor Folasade Olajuyigbe  congratulated the Vice Chancellor saying  the organization was proud of her. She said “we the executive members of OWSD FUTA Branch on behalf of all members of the Organization welcome you to FUTA and are glad that you are part of this prestigious international organization”.
She said “our goals as executives include: capacity development of members, strengthening Mentor-Mentee Relationships; Improving Members’ participation in local, national and international OWSD activities amongst others”
The Chairperson added that after 100 days in office the branch had started recording positive impacts on members such as: Enhanced visibility especially of academic staff through registration on Google Scholar; improved interpersonal relationships; appointment of representatives to improve member participation in OWD activities; and a robust database covering biodata and other vital information of members.
Professor Olajuyigbe pledged their support to the university administration and wished the Vice Chancellor a successful tenure.
