The West African Science Service Center on Climate Change and Adapted Land Use (WASCAL)

The Doctoral Research Program in West Africa Climate Systems (DRP-WACS) of the West Africa Science Service Center in Climate Change and Adapted Land Use (WASCAL) hosted at The Federal University of Technology Akure.

On the 10th of August, 2010, The Federal University of Technology, Akure was selected as the Lead University for the Graduate Research Program (GRP) in the West African Climate System (WACS). The program is for the training of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph. D) students in all aspects of the West African Climate System. On 23 January 2012, the DRP - WACS started formally with 10 students, one student from each West African WASCAL country. (Nigeria, Ghana, Benin Republic, Cote d’Ivoire, Niger, Senegal, Togo, Mali, Burkina Faso and the Gambia).

WASCAL LAUNCHES NEW SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME ON ENERGY AND GREEN HYDROGEN FOR ECOWAS STUDENTS

The West African Science Service Centre on Climate Change and Adapted Land Use (WASCAL), a West African international Climate Change Institution has launched a new scholarship scheme for students from all ECOWAS states who want to pursue International Master’s Degree in Energy and Green Hydrogen Technology.

The Doctoral Research Program in West African Climate Systems is located in the Federal University of Technology Akure, Nigeria (FUTA).
Students with other sources of including e.g. TEFUND, PTF, Governmental support, NGOs, other scholarship supports and self can also apply for the programme.
Applications are invited from qualified candidates from the broad spectrum of Meteorology, Climate Science, Climatology, Geography, Atmospheric Physics, Agriculture, Hydrology and Water Resources Management, Mathematics or any other related discipline.
