FUTA Gets NUC's Nod for New Academic Programmes


... Medical Laboratory Science, Textile Design Technology and Entrepreneurship  

Sequel to a verification exercise carried out recently by a team of experts from the National Universities Commission, (NUC), on proposed academic programmes at the Federal University of Technology Akure FUTA, approval has been granted for the commencement of B.Tech. Entrepreneurship, B. Tech. Medical Laboratory Science, and B. Tech. Textile Design Technology on full time basis beginning from the 2023/2024 academic session. 

Conveying the approval to the Vice Chancellor, Professor Adenike Oladiji, fas on behalf of the NUC, the Director, Academic Planning, Dr. N.B. Saliu wrote "the Vice Chancellor is please invited to recall that a resource verification visit was carried out by a panel of experts to the proposed academic programmes in the Federal University of Technology, Akure with a view to assessing human and material resources available for it's establishment. I am directed to inform the Vice Chancellor that the Executive Secretary has considered and approved the establishment of the full-time mode of the following undergraduate programmes, to be run in the main campus of the university with effect from the 2023/2024 academic session: B. Tech. Entrepreneurship, B. Tech. Medical Laboratory Science and B. Tech. Textile Design Technology."
The Vice Chancellor while expressing her delight on the positive development said it is another feather to the cap of the university in knowledge expansion, training and capacity building as well as research endeavour.  
Professor Oladiji said students admitted for the new programmes will definitely get the best training as the university is adequately equipped will both human and material resources to run them.  
She commended the NUC and its team that visited the university for an objective assessment that led to the approval of the Executive Secretary.
