From FUTA's Department of Fisheries and Aquaculture Technology
The fish is the giant African catfish, Heterobranchus longifilis,12kg and 14 kg.
They are brooder fish not less than five years in captive rearing on FUTA fish farm.
According to Professor Oyedapo Fagbenro , one of the erudite professors in the department and an expert in fishery and aquaculture, the cultivation of fish for teaching and research purposes started in FUTA in 1985.
