Vice Chancellor Thrilled as FUTA Students Display Creativity at 2023 Entrepreneurship Exhibition


 

The Vice Chancellor, Federal University of Technology Akure, FUTA Professor Adenike Oladiji has pledged to support students with promising products that have the potentials of becoming commercial success. She made the pledge while inspecting products put on display by Year III students who rounded off their training in Entrepreneurship for the 202/2023 academic session on Thursday November 29,2023.

Professor Oladiji, apparently impressed by what she saw at the Babatunde Afen Adebayo Multipurpose Hall venue of the exhibition, commended the ingenuity and creativity of the students and their trainers. She expressed satisfaction with the students who put on display various products, home utensils and decorations, farm produce, poultry and digital creation, crafts and culinary delicacies.

“The University will continue to support our students in the area of product development and entrepreneurship so that you can begin to upscale the products especially the ones that have prospects of becoming commercial success,” the Vice Chancellor said. She expressed her immense pride in the student’s achievement. She noted that the exhibition not only celebrated their accomplishment but also symbolized the University’s commitment to her mantra of Technology for self-reliance.

Professor Oladiji also thanked the trainers and the supervisors for enduring the excesses of students by taking time to ensure that the students understood the various crafts and arts within the specified period given.

Speaking earlier, Director, Centre for, Entrepreneurship, Prof, Oladunni Daramola said with the exhibition, students who took part in ENT302, a compulsory course for all year III students, had the opportunity to display their creativity before a larger audience. According to her, “FUTA runs an inclusive Entrepreneurship ecosystem that spans through most of the units in the University. The inclusive participation in Entrepreneurship training encourages active involvement of virtually every Academic Department and unit in rendering services and support to student during training.” She seized the opportunity to thank the University Management for its constant support for the center
